Dear Members of the Goodwin Community:

Welcome to our updated website.  We hope that you will find its contents helpful, and that we can make the interaction between the School and you as positive as it can be.  That has always been, and during my tenure always will be, the most important aspect of our commitment to the students: ensuring that they get a positive, welcoming experience every day!  East Hartford Public Schools’ vision is that our Schools will be the Pride of the Community, and the Mission is to deliver a high-quality learning experience for EVERY CHILD, EVERY DAY!

With those goals in mind, the staff at Goodwin is committed to positivity, dedication to delivering student-centered instruction, and providing outstanding staff-student interactions and communication.  Gator Pride is very real, and it is well-deserved!

In addition to these visions and mission, there are a couple of unique aspects to our school that make it stand out to me.  Recently voted a “School of Distinction” by the CT State Dept. of Education, the effort we expect from our students and the amazing achievement we have been recognized for has resulted in such awards.  There are high expectations for ALL students.  Our Special Education Department has been particularly remarkable in that regard, improvement scores being especially noteworthy.  We are very proud of our two self-contained Resource Rooms, which provide their children with incredible instruction, support, and opportunities for growth.  I feel that Goodwin is an incredible place to be, and I want us to get even better, every day.

My commitment to all Goodwin Community members is that I will always be available to discuss matters related to Goodwin with you.  I will work hard every day to ensure open communication and commitment to student achievement.  I will seek the best possible approaches for our children. If there is ever anything you would like to  meet with me regarding, please do not hesitate.

Welcome to Goodwin School.  We are looking forward to working with you!  Go Gators!
